Response to CIA torture claims

Recently, America has gone into shock as to what to do with these torture claims presented by the Democrats concerning the CIA. As a country we are literally immobilized by this event, we don't know what to do now. In short the CIA is torturing people in order to get information vital to the saving of many lives. The facts are that the Democratic party started a full on investigation into the history of torture cases in the CIA. An interesting fact to add before I go any farther is that the Democratic party in the beginning, supported the CIA in what they did torture or not, But now because they have a false sense of heroism or wanting to wash their hands of the whole thing, they're backing out and blaming everything on the CIA. Before the Democrats even started this investigation, the Republican party has taken a back seat, this hints to the fact that the Democrats have something to hide. After the events that occurred on September 11, 2001 The U.S. was completely united, we would do anything possible to get the information we needed to find the people responsible for those events. So what changed? Unfortunately I can't answer that all I know is that the Democratic party is trying to hide something. This whole investigation and the 6,000 page report also came from the assumption of the Democrats, there was no conversation with the CIA there was no interview and there was no testimony. So again we have a Democratic majority interrogating the CIA all on the basis of pictures with no voice from the CIA. As far as I know, that sounds like an infringement on our first amendment rights, freedom of speech. It is ironic in the face of all these arguments of gay marriage and legalizing marijuana, freedom of speech is the name of the game. So why do the advocates of freedom of speech deny it to the people that need it the most, in this case the CIA. Lets dive into the morals of this debate, is torture wrong? Yes it is. Do I believe in this case it's necessary? Absolutely. I believe that to defeat a bigger evil you need commit a smaller evil. Either way you cant win the war, only the battle. As far as the right and wrong of it, few are more qualified to speak than senator John McCain who, being a POW in Vietnam, was imprisoned and himself tortured. McCain states that he believes that torture is wrong and that we as American's should not put up with any kind of torture employed by American personal. So in short, America as a country is just too powerful to revert back to ancient ways to get information, we are so technologically advanced, we have other ways to get it. Also as the leader of the free world, we should not torture and proclaim freedom for all at the same time, it doesn't work. I don't regret anything the CIA did, but in this day and age I believe we should put away torture and find something more effective as far as finding information goes. 

Response to Naomi Klein

Are tough times getting you down? Well don't turn to the current economical and ecological state of things. You'll only find a lot of stress and B.S. Enter Naomi Klein who has found an ingenious way to solve our ecological problems I 
I hope you catch my sarcasm. What Klein wants to do is to reduce worldwide emissions, (specifically in America and Europe) by 80%. Because if we don't and the earth temperature rises 2 degrees Celsius, the world will be set on an unstoppable path to destruction. Gee I hope they're getting mars ready for habitation soon.
Now for a little good news, Klein is one of the most radical and far out "green people" out there. Why is this good news you ask? Because Klein and all 
her colleagues are part of a very small minority of these 
people. In other words, this way of thinking isn't going anywhere fast. Klein also comes out and says that the small incremental steps that other "greens" want to improve upon is "not enough" according to Klein and that a total ecological overhaul is in order. The funny thing is that we as conservatives get the implications of Klein's plan better than our "green" counterparts. By the way let's talk about the implications of Klein's plan. First, Let's talk about the 80% cut in emissions, you can say goodbye to all kinds of travel. Your car? Gone, you have business on the other side of the Atlantic? I hope you can swim well because cars, aircraft, ships and perhaps even trains will be outlawed. Sound crazy? Yes. Is there a "green" named Naomi Klein that, if she has her way, would enforce this? Yes. Now why does Klein care so much about the earth? That's a question that i don't know the answer to, however i believe that it has something to do with the fair treatment of all. Klein wants all the world to pull their own weight as far as emissions go and when you get big countries like America and try to fit them in a third world country box, it doesn't work. So to finish, will the American people and European people accept this? No. As Americans we don't give up our freedoms. It's what this nation was founded upon and it's what will endure. Capitalism triumphs for better or for worse, it's human nature.

Response to immigration plan

How much power does the president have? This seems to be the question of the day lately as "We the People" wait to see what will happen with Obamas immigration plan. Another good question to ask is when relating to human nature, how much is enough? The reason I ask this is because Obama is taking more than his share of the power pie and running with it and trying to get away before mom and dad (legislative and judicial) find out. In a nutshell president Obama is handing out visas, papers and social security numbers to otherwise illegal immigrants merely so that the family's of said people won't get upset. Another point of interest is when looking at the the executive branch, it does not have the power to create laws only to enforce them. Texas representative Lamar Smith stated "This executive order would be a violation of the president’s oath of office and a blatant abuse of power,” (New york times) Smith also stated "The president has sworn an oath of office to uphold the laws, but now he is planning to rewrite them on his own.” (New york times) This is clearly an overstepping of executive's power that needs to be dealt with before this goes too far. Obama knows that with these new Republicans in congress that he's not going to have near as much leeway as he did previously so he's trying to get away with what he can and get out of office before he can face the consequences. In the past Obama tried to win the votes of the Republicans by going on a deporting spree with which advocacy groups labled him "deported and chief". But now seeing that he didn't gain any majority of republican votes by doing this, he wants to cut his losses and move on. But what Obama is really trying to do is two things first he wants to make a name for himself, he wants to be remembered as the one who made family's happy and brought people back together. Second of all by making people happy and gaining their "love" you have secured future votes for your respective political party. So in short what Obama is doing is very illegal but on his part smart. And that's really sad if you, the president of the United States has to do something illegal in order to be praised or honored, which is not what being president is about, it's about serving your people, not yourself.

response to 6th circuit judge, sutton

The events that have been occurring in the United States recently concerning marriage, can be described as an equality revolution for some and a moral catastrophe for others. I can't say much for the forementioned group but as for the latter group, those that speak up about this issue will not sit quietly, they will speak their mind and sixth circuit Court judge Sutton is no exception. Until last weak there was no indication that the decision made by United States vs. Windsor to legalize same sex marriage would be challenged. Enter the sixth circuit Court and judge Jeffrey S. Sutton. When confronted with the choice to either keep marriage between a man and a woman or to legalize same sex marriage, the sixth circuit Court, in a 2-1 decision, elected to keep marriage between a man and a woman. As expected this bit of news blew all of America away and forced the question as to why they decided this way. Judge Sutton argues that marriage was in place long before any  government controlling power, therefore whs the power to change that? This is a shockingly good statement and one that has never been brought up before, if marriage was an institution that created governments, not the other way around, why are we trying to do away with it? Judge Sutton also argues that since marriage between a man and a woman can produce offspring and a marriage between two of the same sex can not, what are you contributing? If you can't contribute to the future of America by producing offspring then what's the point if eventually all the advocates for same sex marriage die off? Now looking at the big picture, will this happen? Will they die off? Probably not, but it is something to think about. In the end judge Sutton offers this, it is not the decision of the courts or judges to change the future of America, it is up to the people of America to settle this democratically. Judge Sutton knows that this issue will go to the Supreme Court, he is also aware that the supreme Court will most likely rule in favor of same sex marriage. All judge Sutton has to say for that is this: "In his opinion, he made clear that this would be a mistake and a violation of the Court’s own logic." (Albert mohler) As for the rest of us that believe this is a moral catastrophe, let us pause for a moment and thank judge Sutton for willingly standing up for the history of America and the future of America, he could have easily just watched and let the events unfold and not say a word. Thankfully he didn't and for that he deserves our thanks. Although Sutton is not a Christian, he deserves our respect for indirectly standing up for our beliefs and doing what we all should do.

Response to Christianity without hell

In a recent Time magazine article by John shore, the thought of Christianity without hell was brought into question. This means that if we as Christians believed that there was no hell only God's divine love for us and that hell did not exist even in the Bible, how would we live? Shore brings up such points as "Christianity without hell would be fearless", and although he puts it nicely he basically says that Christianity would be pointless. The strange thing is that he is right. I never really thought about this until recently after being a Christian the majority of my life but if hell is taken out of the picture, what's left? The thing that Shore doesn't understand is that without hell there is no Christianity, that's like trying to take a fish out of water and telling it to live forever, a fish can't survive without water and Christianity without hell doesn't make sense. The question that Shore should really be asking is, why does hell exist? The reason hell exists in Christianity is to in a sense, separate the boys from the men and the girls from the women. If you can't get past the fact that God is a just God and can't grab the implications of that, you are the boys and girls of the Christian faith. The fact is that Shore is just trying to find a way to make Christianity work without bringing the hardships of hell into it. In a magazine article that Shore wrote in April of 2012 for Patheos titled The Bible and Homosexuality he stated that "the Bible is the bedrock of the Christian faith". If Shore agrees that the Bible is the bedrock, why doesn't he try to find his answers in the bedrock of the Christian faith the Bible and not in wherever he gets his strange notions. Here are the facts, God loves us all, he created us for his pleasure of course he loves us. The problem is that the fact that Jesus loves us is the Broccoli that your mom won't stop feeding you because its "good" for you. We as Americans are told so many times that Jesus loves us that when the hard times come and opposition stares us in the face, we sometimes duck under the opposition and give up and not fight it out like God would want us to. God is a warrior, He's coming back on a white horse not a donkey. As for Shore, all I hope is that before he writes anymore articles on the Christian faith that he would read up on his subject in the Bible. The "bedrock of the Christian faith".

Response to insured abortions

On august 22, 2014, every insurance carrier in California was ordered by the government to start including surgical abortions as "basic health care" in their clients policies. The thing was that this new requirement was passed around quietly and it wasn't until recently that the government has started cracking down on it. As it stands California has not bent to the will of the government and the government doesn't like that. It is rumored that California could lose all government funding if we do not give way to this new requirement. The Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) senior counsel Casey mattox says: "No state can blatantly ignore federal law and think that it should continue to receive taxpayer money". Think of the government as a child for a moment who doesn't get what they want and throws a fit and then you'll understand this. Now to the main issue, us Christians. We may look at this and scoff at this and rally together and say this isn't fair or even that this is infringing upon our first amendment rights, which in its own way, is true. But as I've said before in one of my previous blogs, is this kind of attack new? Is this something that is unprecedented in Christian history? Well the answer is no. As I see it now, here in America, we are not running for our lives avoiding getting our heads chopped off, nor are we providing light for dinner parties. I'd say we're living a lot more comfortable than that. Now don't mistake those last few sentences for me being ashamed to protest against the rest of the world for I am not. I have the utmost respect for those who are leading these protests against the  government and the rest of the world. All I wish to convey to all those Christians who think this is the end of the world and that we have lost is this: The truth is that there is no reason to think we have lost, for God is on our side, no one ever said that being a Christian was going to be easy. I can personally testify that being a Christian is one of the hardest things I've ever attempted, I say attempted because everyday is an attempt to live for Christ and not for the world. However, the bad part is, I fail a lot. But in the end I know my little struggles will be worth it, us Christians will all be winners so don't lose faith, but be strengthened knowing that this life is nothing compared to what's ahead. But until that time comes, always remember that God's light always shines brightest when darkness is at hand.

Response to Missionary doctor criticism

Recently, Missionary doctors have been the subject of controversy over the treating of the virus Ebola. You see where secular organizations have pulled out because there is no more limelight in treating Ebola, the Christian doctors have stayed and continued to treat the virus. To non-believers this seems like a completely outrageous concept, why risk your life treating those lower than you? Yet the Missionary doctors continue to stay with no plan to pull out in the near future, and this bothers some people. An article written by Brian Palmer for "Slate" magazine, said "It's great that these people are doing God's work, but do they have to talk about him so much? Obviously this man is ignorant about Christianity and knows nothing about it. But is that not why we as Christians do acts like this? To show God's glory and love for us? Galatians 5:13 states that: "For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another." Now to those who are unfamiliar to the Christian faith, I pray this sheds some light for you and answers your question as to why Missionary doctors stay behind and serve the people of Africa. It is because where secular doctors and missionaries do it to be in the limelight or get the paycheck, those missionary doctors are called to a higher purpose than a lame paycheck, and that is to be a servant to the rest of the world. Jesus was on this earth for 33-34 years before he was crucified, there wasn't a second that he wasted in doing something for a profit or doing something selfish. The creator of everything laid down his life for us sinners, that in and of itself is enough to answer the question of why Missionaries stay, why Missionaries risk their life, and why Missionaries can't stop spreading God's word. But those who refuse to accept that fact look for other answers, they don't find them and they justify their way to their own doctrine. And this is what has become the modern doctrine, welcome to the American Gospel. 

A complex God

As Christians we know that we are made in God's image therefore if we are made in the image of an all-knowing and perfect God, don't you think that He would make us complex and not simple? George Johnson writer of the article "Creation, in the Eye of the beholder" states in the article that "When we see such intricate symmetry, our brains automatically assume there was an inventor". Later in the article Johnson states "If God is so powerful, why would he need to assemble eyes with such an elaborate structure". If we were made simple and not complex and God claimed to create us, couldn't Johnson make the argument go the other way? He could just simply say, If God is so powerful why did he create us so simply? However, since God is so powerful he wants to put his power on display for the rest of the world to see. Johnson also states that "creationists and conspiracy theorists share is a deep disbelief in accidents". These "accidents that Johnson is relating to are accidents that are not recorded in any form of history. However, where Johnson questions Christianity and creation, we have documented proof (The Bible) that creation occurred and by knowing God's nature as perfect in other words He cannot lie, it is true. I am a seeing is believing person and for me it is sometimes hard to grasp and believe the things of God. However when I look around and see these complex fixtures from the beauty of the human eye to the hugeness of the Milky Way Galaxy I know that there is something else out there, something of so much more power than myself. In reality evolutionists aren't that far off because when God created the universe, I'm sure it was the biggest bang in the history of the world. 

Response to Isis

It's been about a month since the terrorist group Isis televised the beheading of reporter James Foley. Several beheadings later with at least two televised, we are finally targeting Isis oil refineries from which the terrorist group gets their income. Isis started out to be a regional issue for surrounding areas like Syria and Iraq but soon they became an issue for the U.S. However, as we get farther and farther into this ordeal, we are finding that the rest of the world is getting in on the hunt for Isis. France especially is taking some heat. Recently Isis stated that "If you can kill a disbelieving American or European - especially the spiteful and filthy French... then do so" (The Local). France responded to these threats by stating that they were "not afraid" and that "France is prepared to respond to their threats."
As stated before, it is now clear that the world not just the U.S. is being targeted by Isis and accordingly, Isis is not only being targeted by the U.S. but also by the rest of the world. Even Vladmir Putin has been looking to join the coalition against Isis. If this is true, then that means that the tension the U.S. has had with Russia will go on the backburner if not go away all together. The people of America also need to unite, to put aside their differences and stand up for what they believe. We need to put aside our little squabbles as a nation and focus on the big picture. If Isis takes control then there will be no more freedom for anyone. So before more people start wanting more rights for issues like gay marriage, worry about what will take away your freedoms and rights if given the chance.
As a nation and as a country, we need to unite and put down this common enemy, and in the process of doing so we may happen upon of a time of peace unprecedented in decades where countries live without fear of nuclear war, where people have a sense of security, and where the patriotism of all is unquestionable.

response to ivcf derecognization

Recently, InterVarsity Christian fellowship (IVCF) a student led, inter-denominational Christian ministry have been derecognized by 23 California state university schools. IVCF has been been derecognized due to the fact that they require their leaders to have Christian beliefs. Just to be clear this does not only apply to Christian groups but also to other groups that require their leaders to follow their beliefs. Therefore this is not a sole attack on Christianity but for pretty much any much organized religion that requires its followers to follow a certain set of rules or commandments. We as Christians are called to spread God's truth by witnessing to others, with this information known there are two different cases that would get IVCF "derecognized". The first case is that the members of IVCF were doing such a good job of spreading God's word that certain people couldn't stand to here the sins that they were living in. The second case is what I fear may have happened, that instead of trying to reel people to God like we're supposed to ("And he said to them, “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” Matthew 4:19) the members of IVCF came out guns a blazing and not only drove people away from God, but created opposition in the process. As I have stated before in my previous blog, I do not believe it is our right to judge other people I believe that is God's job, because in reality, all people are fallen, how much better are we than them? To justify my last statement we as Christians are called to help people identify their sins and help them work through them. But even when you witness the right way and are deemed a bigot for "judging" someone, that really just shows that the people know they are sinning and that they don't want any help with their struggles with sin. There is also another issue with this "derecognization" of these organizations, this "derecognization" has been going on for a number of years it is not a new thing. Another thing is that there isn't a signed document stating that these colleges have to allow groups like IVCF onto their campus so it is only a privilege that groups like IVCF are allowed on the campus. Even though it seems that Christians have been dealt a heavy blow, we have to remember that we cannot equate this incident to suffering when there are Christians in countries like Iraq that are on the run just trying to stay alive. But in these times we have to remember on thing, even in the darkest of 
times, God's light shines through.

America's welfare system

Although the history of America's welfare system can be traced back to the 19th century, it really caught on in the 1930's during the great depression. America's welfare system at its roots, is a temporary means for people to get back on their feet which is perfectly fine. The problem arises when people begin to realize that they don't need to work to get food anymore. My family owns a farm in Northern California with a handful of hard working employees, I was listening to one of them tell a story about their experience with welfare. He said that he was in the store one time trying to buy normal everyday food like eggs and milk etc. when he went to check out the person in front of him had his cart filled with cakes and soda and all kinds of other junk, the man flashed his food stamps and walked out of the store without paying a dime. But the thing is, that the people on food stamps or means-tested welfare aren't the problem, the problem is the politicians that endorse the Welfare system. Nancy Pelosi has claimed that " welfare benefits are a stimulus to the economy" (Investors.com). As we stand the U.S. is about 17 trillion dollars in debt, what would happen to that number if everyone stopped working and then lived off of some sort of Government, means tested welfare? The Democrats believe that "if every family were on food stamps, the economy would return to its glory days." (Investor.com) But where is the American dream? Before America was a nation, when we called great Britain home there was no chance of you changing your future. If you were born in a lower class family, you were lower class the rest of your life no questions asked, there was nothing you could do to change your future, the same went for the middle and upper classes. But when America was founded, that was shattered, now the poor could rise up and be the richest people in the world. However, this principle that America was founded upon is slowly going away, now the solution for those who don't want to work is welfare. The Bible even talks about those that don't work, in 2 Thessalonians 3:10 it says: "For even when we were with you, we would give you this command: If anyone is not willing to work, let him not eat". As it stands about 35% of Americans are on some sort of means-tested welfare and that number keeps on climbing every day. If this trend continues what can we expect to see? Do i dare say communism?

Response to Richard Dawkins

Is murder morally good? Has society fallen so far to accept murder as a common and perfectly allowable act? Apparently Richard Dawkins has. On August 20 a twitter user tweeted that she didn't know what she would do if she was pregnant with a down syndrome baby. In response Richard Dawkins tweeted "Abort it and try again. It would be immoral to bring it into the world if you have the choice." (Richard Dawkins). As expected, twitter erupted into controversy on August 20, some with Dawkins and some not. 

You see Richard Dawkins might be saying that he believes that Down Syndrome babies should be aborted but where is he really drawing the line? If he is supporting aborting Down Syndrome babies what about those that will some day get Parkinson's disease? Alzheimer's? What does he think about these? I guess he is saying that if you want your baby to have brown eyes but its born with blue eyes you should abort it. "You have no right to judge me" some may say. This may be true but you better believe that my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ has every right in the world to judge you. Get ready you who support abortion. Because you will be judged. Richard Dawkins believes that it is immoral not to abort Down Syndrome babies because "if your morality is based, as mine is, on a desire to increase the sum of happiness and reduce suffering, the decision to deliberately give birth to a Down baby,". (Dawkins) So lets legally kill some babies that may have an immeasurable impact on human society, graduate at the top of their class at Stanford, that may become a millionaire someday, that may become president someday all in the name of happiness. Good job Dawkins, your level of intellect is astounding, I don't know if I've heard anything that stupid before. Oh and as happiness goes people with down syndrome are some of the happiest people in the world. In fact an anonymous person commented on Dawkins stand on abortion by saying "I care for 3 adults with Downs Syndrome, and I can assure you that my life certainly isn't "marred". Quite the opposite, in fact. Since I've worked with disabled adults, my life has been immeasurably enhanced."
This person then went on to criticize Dawkins of his stand and call him out on his ignorance of the subject.  

It is at this part of the program that some may encourage you, the reader, to form your own opinion on this matter. But I will not. People this is wrong I don't see how some people cannot see this, What Richard Dawkins is doing is bad, how long will it take the people of America to realize that? Stop justifying the causes for abortion because it is not right, do you realize that the baby that is aborted will never have a say in anything? Something better change because if you look at the birth rate in America, you'll see that There aren't enough babies being born to balance out the older generation's deaths. And if this trend continues, you can bet that there will be no more America.

The United States is full of issues, there is no doubt about that, everyone thinks they know the answer to everything and that their way is the best way, while I fully support people coming up with their own ideas, there are some topics that get ignored too often. One of these topics is the separation of church and state. From the very conception of our nation Christianity has been there, although some of the founding fathers were not Christians, they supported the ideals of Christianity and sought to keep Christian principles in order. Take Thomas Jefferson for example, he was not a Christian,
however that is old news what is relevant is even though he wasn't a Christian he sought to keep Government out of governing religion. On October 7, 1801 the Danbury Baptists wrote Thomas Jefferson expressing their affirmation of Jefferson being elected president, however along with their excitement they wrote concerning the freedom of religion stated in the first amendment. This was also Thomas Jefferson's fear, he actually wrote many documents proclaiming the inability of the Federal Government to interfere with religion. Jefferson believed that God, not government, was the authorandsource of our rights and that the government, was to be prevented from interfering
with those rights.


For nearly 190 years after the founding of our nation, Bible readings in schools were permitted, everything changed in 1963. After 1963 Bible readings in schools were not allowed, speaking of God in public schools was not allowed. Even the ten commandments that hung from the walls of schools were scarcely allowed, and if the child read the ten commandments for any other purpose than to just practice reading, that would be deemed unconstitutional. Unconstitutional? things such as do not murder, do not commit adultery, do not lie, do not steal, deemed unconstitutional. After 1963 when bible reading were stopped, crime rates skyrocketed and the generation that graduated high school were deemed the first that "did not know more than their parents".


This happened back in 1963, where will the United States be in 2063? I'm no smart person but I don't really want to know. It is up to the people of this generation to decide which path to take, either reject God and fall like the Roman empire, or reaccept God and begin to rebuild what has been destroyed.
